Crossing Hurdles is seeking a Linguist with a Master’s or Ph.D. to work as an AI Trainer. The role involves transcribing, annotating, and evaluating language data to support AI model training, while collaborating with teams in a remote environment.

Staffing & Recruiting

Responsibilities

Transcribe complex audio and video content with high linguistic accuracy
Annotate and label language data to support AI model training
Review and refine AI-generated transcriptions and text outputs
Evaluate grammar, syntax, semantics, and discourse-level quality in AI responses
Provide structured linguistic feedback to improve model performance
Develop and follow consistent transcription and annotation guidelines
Conduct quality assurance checks to maintain data integrity
Document processes, insights, and best practices for ongoing improvement
Collaborate asynchronously with AI engineers and data teams as needed

Qualification

Required

Master's or Ph.D. in Linguistics or a closely related field
Native-level proficiency in English with exceptional written and verbal communication
Strong background in linguistic analysis, syntax, semantics, and discourse
High attention to detail when reviewing, transcribing, and annotating language data
Experience with transcription, annotation, or language-focused research tasks
Ability to evaluate language for naturalness, coherence, and correctness
Familiarity with AI, NLP, or language model concepts
Comfortable working independently in a remote, asynchronous environment

Preferred

Experience working on AI training, NLP, or language data annotation projects
Familiarity with transcription tools and linguistic annotation platforms
Background in computational linguistics or applied linguistics
Published academic research in linguistics or related fields
