Composite Technician

Re:Build Manufacturing is a growing family of industrial and engineering businesses based in New Kensington, PA, focused on revitalizing US manufacturing. The Composite Technician will be responsible for composite layup and various assembly tasks to ensure high-quality fabrication of aerospace components.

Responsibilities

Composite Layup: Prepare molds, apply and place composite materials following technical drawings and specifications
Perform secondary bonding of components with epoxies and resins
Vacuum bagging
Trimming & Cutting: Perform detailed trimming and cutting of composite materials using various tools to meet development and engineering specifications
Drilling: Operate hand drills and other equipment to drill holes in composite parts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with engineering drawings
Tooling & Molding: Set up and use jigs, fixtures, and molds for the assembly process
Material Handling: Safely handle composite materials, resins, and adhesives, maintaining a clean and organized work area
Quality Assurance: Carry out inspections and tests on composite assemblies, noting any discrepancies or defects according to set procedures
Team Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, quality inspectors, and team members to improve processes and maintain high-quality output

Required

Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions
Understanding of composite materials, resin systems, and adhesives
Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments
Attention to detail
Dexterity to handle small parts and tools
Ability to work in environments that may require PPE
High school diploma or GED, or equivalent experience

Preferred

Technical or vocational training in composite technology or aerospace manufacturing
