Inside Higher Ed is seeking Student Employees for their Tech Shop within the Academic & Research Technologies department at SHSU. The role involves providing Tier 2 Technical Support, assisting with computer system configurations, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining communication with clients.

Responsibilities

Assisting with the configuration and installation of various types of computer systems and peripherals

Troubleshooting hardware and software issues reported to us through our ticketing system

Maintain accurate record of all work performed on tickets that may be assigned to the Student Technician

Maintain active communication via phone and email with the client who placed the work order

Assist with team-wide projects such as moving department computer equipment to a different location or helping replace computers in our academic computer labs
