Jr. Designer L1-2, Regional Electrical Engineering
Con Edison is a leading energy company, and they are seeking a Junior Designer to support their engineering team. The role involves analyzing electric distribution systems, providing design support, and developing construction layouts to enhance service delivery.

Responsibilities
The Junior Designer will conduct engineering analysis to determine the adequacy of electric distribution system components
Design projects to reinforce electric distribution system components
Develop detailed construction drawings for work which includes drawings and instructions for the installation, maintenance, modification, or removal of system components
Use computer-aided design (CAD) software to generate engineering prints and construction drawings
Update prints to capture current system configurations
Provide engineering support during system emergencies to maintain or restore service to customers
Selected candidates may be assigned to work in either the Brooklyn, Manhattan, or Westchester based on business needs
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma/GED and 2 years Design Work Experience or
Associate's Degree In Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering Technology
Competent in the use of Auto-Cad to generate drawings
Ability to interpret basic information on drawings
Demonstrated problem solving skills
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, etc
Demonstrated analytical skills
Well organized, detail oriented and flexible to handle multiple assignments
Performs work independently with minimal supervision
Driver's License Required
Sit or stand to use a keyboard, mouse, and computer for the duration of the workday
Possess manual dexterity and the ability to use hands for the duration of the workday
Stand to use/operate office equipment for the duration of the workday
Work rotating shifts, including nights, midnights, weekends and holidays
The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays
