Responsibilities
Lead the design, budgeting, and implementation of capital projects involving mechanical systems in steel fabrication plants
Identify and specify mechanical equipment and systems required for fabrication and erection processes
Analyze current operations and recommend changes to improve productivity, efficiency, safety, and quality. Mechanical design and overseeing the build of custom solutions is required
Develop and maintain engineering drawings, specifications, and project documentation
Work with suppliers and contractors to ensure timely delivery and installation of mechanical components
Ensure all mechanical designs and installations comply with industry standards, codes, and safety regulations
Coordinate with fabrication, erection, quality, and safety teams to align project goals and execution
Monitor project costs and schedules to ensure alignment with capital expenditure plans
Qualification
Required
3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or steel fabrication industrial environment
Shop floor and/or job site experience required
Bachelor's degree in mechanical, industrial, manufacturing, construction engineering, or a related field
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, structural steel components, and fabrication processes
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Strong communication and collaboration abilities across engineering and operations teams
Understand safety standards and regulatory compliance in industrial environments
Position will require the use of 2D & 3D CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and project management tools
