Front End Engineer, Product & Design Systems (AI Platform)
West End Workforce is a high-velocity AI startup building a new kind of decision-making system. They are hiring a Front End Product Engineer to own the front-end experience for an AI-driven product and help define user interactions with intelligent workflows.
Responsibilities
Build and maintain a SvelteKit application, owning front-end architecture decisions, component design, and long-term scalability
Write clean, type-safe TypeScript across the stack, from reactive UI components to API integrations
Partner closely with design, research, product, and GTM to translate user needs into polished, production-grade experiences
Integrate commercial and custom AI models into intuitive workflows that help users move from question → insight → decision
Establish front-end patterns, standards, and practices that enable the product and team to scale confidently
Obsess over performance, accessibility, usability, and the 'small things' that separate good software from great software
Qualification
Required
Deep experience building modern web applications using either Svelte, React, Vue, or similar frameworks
Strong product and UX intuition, with the ability to make thoughtful trade-offs independently
Proven ability to own features end-to-end, from early design collaboration through implementation, testing, and deployment
Experience with design systems and scalable component architecture
A high bar for detail, usability, and visual polish—you notice misalignment, inconsistent spacing, and 'almost right' UI
Preferred
Building or integrating AI/ML-powered product features
Tailwind CSS and utility-first styling approaches
Performance optimization, bundle analysis, and UI responsiveness at scale
Working in environments that run on Kubernetes-based infrastructure
Alternative JavaScript runtimes like Bun
Rapid iteration in early-stage startup environments where you ship, learn, and improve fast
