AAG-Assistant Attorney General - Estate Tax Litigation - Chicago
NEOGOV is seeking an Assistant Attorney General for the Estate Tax Litigation Bureau. This role involves recovering debts owed to state agencies and administering estate tax matters, including litigation in state court.

Responsibilities
The Revenue Litigation Bureau is responsible for recovering debts owed to state agencies. Those cases include tort cases arising from damage to state property, collection actions to recover fines and penalties, grant recovery, and a variety of statutory actions
The Bureau also administers the Illinois Estate and Generation Skipping Transfer Tax. The Bureau reviews all Illinois estate tax returns and litigates estate tax issues in state court as needed
Qualification
Required
Licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois at the time of application
At least two years of experience in estate planning
Sound judgment
Commitment to public service
Interest in tax audits and litigation work
Preferred
Advanced tax degree, such as LL.M. in Taxation
CPA
Litigation experience, which includes motion and discovery practice
