J3 Electrical & Instrumentation Maintenance Technician

Global Cellulose Fibers is a company that transforms renewable cellulose fibers into essential everyday products. They are seeking a J3 Electrical & Instrumentation Maintenance Technician to support their Columbus Modified Fiber facility, responsible for completing scheduled and routine maintenance work, troubleshooting, and maintaining various electrical and instrumentation systems.

Responsibilities

Install, troubleshoot, repair AC and DC drive systems as well as stand-a-lone process drives of various manufactures
Troubleshoot, configure, maintain DCS systems such as Delta V and Honeywell
Install, troubleshoot, maintain 575V through 2300V motors including induction, synchronous, wound rotor, permanent magnet and DC
Installation, calibration, troubleshooting various manufactures of analog and SMART instruments and analytical equipment
Install, troubleshoot, maintain motor controls including electronic motor protection relays, sizing overloads, and starter maintenance of various manufactures
Shop and field repair of final control elements such as pneumatic valves, electric valves, solenoid operated valves, calibration of pneumatic and SMART valve positioners
Install, troubleshoot, maintain various electrical components such as mechanical limit, proximity, photo electric, speed and reflective switches
Install, program, troubleshoot and maintain PLC systems including associated communication such as DH+, mod_bus, Ethernet
Read, interpret and redline wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, P&ID’s and loop sheets
Understand and follow 70E regulations involving Arc Flash and Shock hazards
Communicate with operators while troubleshooting electrical and instrument controls
Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on routine and extended annual outages
Maintain shops, load centers, DCS work areas to a 5S standard
Personally exhibit safety as a core value and effectively communicate a shared vision for safety
Represent both company policy and direction
Develop knowledge of department and mill operations processes, equipment and systems
Assist mechanical craft as needed
Utilize excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Utilize the International Paper Change Process to drive change
Work effectively alone or within a team
Utilize strong organization skills to handle multiple tasks effectively
Analyze problems and develop solutions independently or with teams
Make timely and effective decisions
Perform other duties as assigned

Required

At least 18 years of age
Minimum high school graduate, GED, or equivalent work experience
Eligible for employment in the US
Basic computer skills
Able to function in a team environment
Must have at least five (5) or more years industrial Electrical AND Instrumentation experience
Previous multi-skilled E&I maintenance experience
Must possess high standards in the areas of safety, quality, ethics, craftsmanship, customer focus, and leadership skills
Skilled in maintenance and troubleshooting of Electrical related equipment and process problems
Knowledge of key operating areas, PLCs AC & DC drives, analog and digital field instrumentation, and DCS equipment
Must be willing to meet the following requirements: Work in industrial conditions (may be warm/hot, dusty/dirty, around hazardous chemicals, noise, heavy machinery, elevated working surfaces, and confined spaces (with proper safety training and safety protection)
Undergo technical online testing, interview, and a formal hands-on assessment of skills
Undergo a drug screen for illicit use of drugs as a condition of employment
Able to work in a tobacco-free environment
Undergo a job-related health assessment as a condition of employment
Submit to periodic drug screens as a condition of employment
Work any shift and/or a rotating shift schedule
Work overtime on a regular basis and with last minute notification
Work holidays and/or weekends on a regular basis
Wear required safety equipment

Preferred

Associates degree or certification(s) in Industrial Maintenance or other related disciplines within instrumentation/electrical
Relevant work experience in an industrial environment
Strong math/physics understanding
