Senior IT Service Owner – MES Applications

Global Cellulose Fibers (GCF) is seeking a highly skilled Senior IT Service Owner to manage and optimize all Manufacturing Execution System (MES) business process applications. This role is responsible for ensuring alignment between IT solutions and business objectives across manufacturing and supply chain processes.

Responsibilities

Serve as the overall Service Owner for MES applications, accountable for lifecycle management, performance, and continuous improvement
Align application roadmaps with business strategies and manufacturing objectives
Provide solution consulting to business stakeholders for process optimization and technology enablement
Define and maintain architecture standards for the internally developed MES platform
Lead design decisions for scalable, secure, and high-performing MES applications
Ensure integration with enterprise systems and data flows across production, inventory, and logistics
Oversee development and support leveraging technologies such as .NET Framework, Elastic, Angular, Visual Studio, TOAD, Power BI, Azure DevOps, LogRocket, and Hangfire
Implement best practices for monitoring, logging, and performance optimization using these tools
Drive solution development using Agile sprint processes and ensure adherence to the full solution development lifecycle
Collaborate with product owners, developers, and QA teams to deliver high-quality MES features and enhancements
Act as the primary IT liaison for manufacturing functions, ensuring strong alignment between business needs and technology solutions
Build and maintain trusted relationships with key stakeholders to influence strategy and prioritize initiatives
Facilitate regular roadmap reviews and communicate progress, risks, and opportunities to business leaders
Lead activities to transition MES applications from legacy TSA arrangements to GCF’s independent IT environment
Define and implement a sustainable IT operating model for MES applications, integrating internal and external capabilities
Evaluate AMS providers for MES applications, including scope definition, cost analysis, and service performance expectations
Drive the selection process and oversee onboarding and integration of AMS partners into GCF’s IT model
Establish governance and performance metrics for AMS delivery
Lead and coordinate projects related to MES applications, ensuring timely delivery and quality outcomes
Manage third-party AMS providers, including performance oversight, governance, and contract compliance
Act as escalation point for critical issues impacting MES applications
Monitor KPIs and service performance metrics to identify improvement opportunities
Drive innovation and best practices in MES application management

Required

10+ years in IT application management, solution delivery, or service ownership roles
Strong knowledge of MES architecture and design principles
Experience with the listed technology stack
Proven ability in business relationship management, project management, and vendor oversight
Experience with TSA exit planning, IT operating model design, and AMS provider evaluation and implementation
Strong problem-solving and issue resolution capabilities
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Expertise in Agile sprint development processes and SDLC
Bachelor's degree in IT, Business, or related field

Preferred

Familiarity with pulp MES processes is highly desirable
