Responsibilities
Process and support backend payroll tax activities after payroll completion
Manage payroll tax filings including federal, state, and Federal Insurance Contributions Act taxes
Respond to and resolve payroll tax notices in coordination with state agencies
Work closely with third-party tax providers, including managing power of attorney and third-party authorizations
Support multi-state payroll tax compliance and reporting requirements
Participate in payroll tax testing and project-related activities
Communicate effectively through internal ticketing systems and external vendor interactions
Attend meetings and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve tax-related issues
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
Two to three years of hands-on payroll tax experience
Solid foundation in payroll taxes including federal, state, and Federal Insurance Contributions Act taxes
Experience with payroll tax filing and post-payroll processing
Multi-state payroll tax experience
Experience working with state agencies and tax notices
Proficiency in Excel and other Office tools
Strong attention to detail with the ability to work accurately in a high-volume environment
Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills
Self-motivated, consistent, and able to work in a fast-paced setting
Preferred
Experience supporting payroll tax projects or testing initiatives
Prior experience working closely with external tax vendors
