Mechanical Engineering Designer
Battelle is a research and development organization that manages national laboratories and delivers critical services. They are seeking a Mechanical Engineering Designer to collaborate on design projects, create engineering drawings, and develop assembly files.

Responsibilities
Collaborate with designer and engineer teammates to meet the design and technical data package requirements of a project
Create designs based on verbal and visual information
Develop fully defined assembly and part files of final design
Modify existing assembly and part files to changing requirements
Generate formal, production-level engineering drawings for fabrication employing ASME Y14.100 and client-specific drawing standards and templates
Select, specify and document purchased components and materials
Create bills of materials (BOMS) and assembly drawings
Qualification
Required
5+ years of mechanical design experience
5+ years of experience generating production-level engineering drawings
3+ years of design experience utilizing Creo (6) or Solidworks (2020)
Ability to work in a collaborative team environment, as well as individually
Experience working within Windchill PLM software
US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance
Preferred
Current TS Clearance
Knowledgeable in the tolerance capabilities of manufacturing processes to apply producible tolerances
Knowledge of and proficiency in the application of GD&T to define part geometry and tolerances per ASME Y14.5
Tolerance Stack Analysis per ASME Y14.5
CAD experience with sheet metal, cables and cable routing
Design experience with electrical boxes and electrical schematics
Experience in documenting weld specifications
Knowledge of MIL-STD-31000
