Shimmick Corporation is seeking a highly talented Quality Field Inspector to focus on construction activities related to the Chickamauga Dam Project. The role involves performing inspections to ensure conformance to quality and specifications while working under general supervision.

Responsibilities

Performs concrete finishing inspections with limited oversight

Comfortable working from a manlift, in a bosun chair, within confined spaces, and from heights

Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals

Works under general supervision

May assist with training entry-level employees

Responsible for monitoring conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties

Performs daily field inspections and maintains inspection records

Participates in punch lists, testing, and commissioning

Tracks quality assurance progress

Provides input to documentation for area and equipment turnovers

Required

High School Diploma/GED + 2 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Must have at least one of: Concrete Field Testing Technician, Grade I, Concrete Laboratory Testing Technician, Grade I or II, Concrete Construction Inspector, Level II

Preferred

Previous marine construction experience

Previous experience working on a USACE (US Army Corp of Engineers) project

Concrete inspection and concrete testing experience

Proficient in Microsoft Office products; including Excel and Microsoft Word
