Works independently, performing all tasks related to the reprocessing and sterilization of surgical instruments
These tasks include maintenance, decontamination, prepping, sterilization and proper handling and storage

Clinical knowledge of sterile processing procedures and surgical instruments

Detail oriented
High school graduate or GED
One (1) year of experience in acute health care
Knowledge of surgical instruments and their use
Knowledge of supplies and equipment used during sterile processing
LA City fire card within 6 months of employment
Preferred
IAHCSMM (International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materiel Management) certification preferred
Previous experience in sterile processing preferred
