Business Development Manager - SMR

Responsibilities

Good understanding of the evolving Small Modular Reactor (SMR) market space
Successful track record in new business / new market development, including market mapping for Total Addressable Markets (TAM), Serviceable Addressable Market (SAS), client technology mapping & analysis including timescales, and networking across organizations involved in the potential route to market
Clear understanding of and proven track record in project sales of capital equipment, or related complex selling environment
Proven ability to qualify new enquiries and understand; a) client mapping in multi-tier project authorities, b) clients economic justification criteria and business drivers, c) project funding process and d) project schedules
Proven track record in managing the above process with different client types across multiple different cultures and having the ability and experience to discover client needs through a skilled approach to open questioning and dialogue
Comfortable working autonomously to develop new customer targets and expand our client base, with the goal to gain client agreement on the performance of the Baker Hughes proposed power conversion solution
Good understanding of the BOM that makes up a steam turbine generator set, and how this system integrates into a client site (mechanically and electrically), or related experience allowing relatively easy and quick adoption of required knowledge
Good understanding of the thermodynamic performance of a steam turbine and how this integrates with a client’s site conditions, or related experience allowing relatively easy and quick adoption of required knowledge
Ability to hold technical discussions regarding steam turbine generator set performance elements, and mechanical and electrical attributes with potential clients – Engineering consultants, EPC contractors, and end users
Technical appreciation of gas expanders and their applications an advantage
Ability to communicate client support strategy to internal sales support teams to support opportunity qualification, and/or to develop a competitive value proposition based technical and commercial offer
Up to 50% travel as required
