Senior Associate - Transaction Advisory Services & Outsourced Accounting
Buxbaum is seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Associate to join their Transaction Advisory Services team. This role focuses on providing financial due diligence support for sell-side transactions and assisting clients with outsourced accounting and financial planning needs, delivering high-quality financial insights to inform strategic decisions.

Responsibilities
Assist in financial due diligence primarily on sell-side transactions, helping identify potential risks, assess financial performance, and evaluate sustainability of earnings
Conduct detailed analyses of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow, translating findings into clear, actionable insights to effectively present the business
Lead the preparation of key deliverables, including quality of earnings reports, working capital analyses, debt-like items schedules, and supporting data books, client-ready reports, and presentations
Actively participate in meetings and calls with management teams, investment bankers, and other advisors, serving as a secondary point of contact to support day-to-day project execution
Support outsourced accounting engagements, including monthly and quarterly close processes, financial statement preparation, account reconciliations, and management reporting
Assist clients with FP&A activities such as budgeting, forecasting, cash flow projections, KPI development, and variance analysis
Build and maintain financial models to support strategic planning, liquidity management, and scenario analysis for growing middle-market companies
Help improve clients’ financial reporting processes, internal controls, and overall financial visibility
Collaborate closely with Buxbaum colleagues and clients in a results-oriented, team-driven environment to ensure project objectives are met
Build and maintain strong client relationships, developing credibility as a trusted advisor across transaction and ongoing advisory work
Demonstrate a consistent commitment to professionalism, ethics, and integrity
Contribute to the growth of the firm by assisting with business development efforts, client presentations, and the refinement of TAS, outsourced accounting, and FP&A service offerings
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited institution
CPA eligibility required
At least four (4) years of experience in audit, transaction advisory, or consulting within a public accounting or advisory firm
Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, with advanced proficiency in Excel, including three-statement models, cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and scenario analysis
Solid understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and the mechanics of the monthly close process
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience interacting with senior team members, management teams, and external advisors (e.g., investment bankers, attorneys)
Demonstrated ability to manage and analyze large datasets with accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to synthesize qualitative and quantitative information into actionable insights and recommendations
Strong presence, intellectual curiosity, and adaptability in fast-paced, evolving engagements
Proven project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and shifting priorities
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team
