Facilities Wastewater / Water Process Engineer
TEEMA is seeking a proactive Facilities Water Process Engineer to lead the design, commissioning, and long-term operation of industrial wastewater systems for a new manufacturing facility. This role is pivotal in ensuring environmental standards are met while advancing sustainable water management practices.

Responsibilities
Assist in the design, installation, and startup of complex treatment systems for organic and inorganic waste streams
Partner with external contractors and internal engineering teams to ensure all water systems are scalable, reliable, and integrated into the site’s master plan
Lead the handover from construction to full-scale operations, establishing the protocols for daily system monitoring and preventive maintenance
Manage the day-to-day functions of the treatment plant, including troubleshooting, chemical handling, and maintaining SCADA-based automated monitoring tools
Own the permitting process, ensuring all discharge meets county and state regulations
Prepare and submit all required environmental documentation
Drive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing water consumption, improving treatment efficiency, and supporting corporate ESG reporting
Maintain precise logs for water quality, flow rates, and chemical inventories
Implement and uphold strict safety standards for chemical processing and high-pressure equipment operation
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field
3+ years in wastewater treatment operations, ideally within a high-tech manufacturing or industrial chemical environment
Deep understanding of biological, chemical, and physical treatment methodologies
Experience with SCADA systems and design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, or MS Office
Ability to work in various weather conditions, climb ladders, and operate at elevations or in confined spaces using appropriate PPE
Regularly able to lift up to 50 lbs and adjust heavy industrial equipment
Must be medically qualified to wear a respirator and work in proximity to sharp or temperature-sensitive equipment
Ability to work onsite at Tempe and Peoria locations, with occasional flexibility for remote work once operations stabilize
Preferred
A Professional Engineering License (PE) is a significant advantage
