Responsibilities
Set up, operate, and maintain CNC and manual machine tools to fabricate or repair precision components, working within tight tolerances
Analyze blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine machine setups, procedures, and optimal machining sequences
Apply knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) to ensure product conformity
Utilize and interpret various precision measuring instruments, such as micrometers (ID/OD/depth), calipers, and pi tapes, to inspect parts and ensure they meet specifications
Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and materials onto machines
Adjust machine feeds, speeds, and tool offsets as needed to maintain high-quality production
Perform routine and preventative maintenance on equipment to minimize downtime and ensure consistent performance
Operate overhead cranes safely to handle materials and parts
Maintain accurate inspection documentation and production records
Communicate effectively within a team environment and with supervisors to ensure priorities and assignments are met efficiently
Demonstrate a continuous commitment to improving efficiency, productivity, and quality
Adhere to all company health, safety, and environmental policies and maintain excellent housekeeping standards
Qualification
Required
Experience with equipment such as CNC 3-axis, 5-axis, machining, grinding, milling, surface grinding, creep feed grinding
Strong mechanical aptitude and excellent manual dexterity
Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical documents, and work instructions
Intermediate mathematical skills for measurement, testing, and problem-solving
Solid critical thinking skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues
Ability to work effectively both independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively within a team
Excellent attention to detail, ensuring work is consistently precise
Basic computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Outlook
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
High school diploma or equivalent is required
Relevant machining certifications are required as specified by equipment manufacturers
Preferred
A trade school certificate or specialized education in machining
