Variable Compensation Systems Analyst

Responsibilities

Monitor, validate, and maintain data pipelines feeding into SAP Commissions, AS400, SQL integration layers, Alteryx workflows, and cloud platforms (e.g., GCP)
Partner with internal IT and external consultants to investigate and resolve technical issues related to compensation calculations, integrations, and performance
Execute root-cause analysis for escalated inquiries and troubleshoot cross-system inconsistencies
Develop technical solutions to support compensation plan changes, processing logic, or new reporting needs
Automate manual workflows and recurring tasks using Alteryx or similar tools to improve accuracy and reduce cycle times
Build and maintain internal compensation reports using Excel, Tableau, or Power BI
Maintain system documentation, including workflow diagrams, data flow maps, and integration specifications
Ensure system integrity and continuity by documenting technical logic and providing technical support coverage for compensation operations
Support system testing, release management, and QA activities in collaboration with IT and business teams
Participate in special projects, including compensation plan modeling, process redesign, or data migrations
Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC's vision and unity of purpose

Required

Bachelor's degree in business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field—or equivalent business experience
3–5 years of experience in compensation systems, sales operations, or enterprise data processes
Proficient in SQL, Alteryx, and Excel; familiarity with SAP Commissions (Callidus) and sales technology platforms
Experience with data integration workflows and troubleshooting large datasets
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
Solid understanding of compensation process flows and business rule logic
Experience leading cross-functional programs/projects with teams like Sales Ops, Finance, and IT
Effective communicator with superior verbal, written, and presentation skills
Skilled in documenting technical workflows and solutions
Experience with visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI
Self-motivated, organized, and able to prioritize multiple requests
Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively across disciplines
Detail-oriented with strong commitment to data accuracy and quality
Capable of resolving complex issues and escalating appropriately when needed

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in marketing or business preferred
Advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite
