Customer Information Systems (CIS) and Billing Specialist

Missouri River Energy Services is a joint action agency supporting member municipalities that operate their own electric distribution systems. The Customer Information Systems and Billing Specialist is responsible for providing high-quality support to members, ensuring effective use of CIS/Billing software products and maintaining communication with vendors and members.

Responsibilities

Provide outstanding customer service over the phone or in person
Provide professional services and education to members to include but not limited to consulting, software readiness, and software functionality
Partners with the members to gain an understanding of workflow, business requirements, and needs to ensure the product works to the member’s satisfaction
Work with vendor to schedule member meeting requests, product demonstrations and other activities related to promoting the partnership with MRES and the product
Participate in and successfully complete all vendor related training necessary to operate the product
Implements, operates and maintains CIS systems, software, and programs; provides integration and deployment responsibilities
Implements and coordinates CIS system and software testing and analyzes results
Coordinates with and provides technical support to members for CIS systems
Assists with program enhancements and initiatives
Participates in MRES Member Technology Committee meetings and activities
Maintains communication with CIS and industry vendors
Handles inquiries from users on a variety of software issues
As experience increases, assists users with installation of software and troubleshooting of related problems; refers more complicated issues to appropriate staff
Communicates regularly with other members of the support team to discuss recurring problems and to share solutions and best practices
Attends training sessions on new equipment, software, platforms, and other products
As experience increases, provides training on software use to end users
Keep abreast of relevant profession, industry, and inter-utility developments in CIS technologies
Frequent travel to member locations and to conferences with occasional overnight stays
Represents MRES on industry, development, and project committees, task forces, and conferences as assigned

Required

Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school in energy or related field and five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Spreadsheet software; and Word Processing software

Preferred

Familiarity with Tyler Technologies programs, especially InCode version 9 and 10 a plus
