Instrument & Electrical Engineer - Seneca

Responsibilities

Lead the design, specification, and review of electrical and instrumentation systems for both new installations and existing projects
Develop essential technical documentation, including wiring diagrams, loop drawings, P&IDs, and control logic schematics
Perform equipment sizing and selection for devices such as control valves, transmitters, sensors, motors, and VFDs
Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) of system failures to develop effective corrective and preventive measures
Support the entire project lifecycle, including installation, commissioning, and startup of instrumentation and electrical systems
Work collaboratively with all engineering disciplines, operations, and maintenance to achieve optimal equipment performance
Ensure all designs and installations strictly comply with applicable industry codes and standards (e.g., NEC, ISA, IEC, NFPA)
Contribute your E&I expertise to safety processes, including HAZOPs, risk assessments, and critical safety reviews
Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, detailed specifications, and formal reports

Required

Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related field, PLUS 1+ years of work experience in an E&I role (relevant Co-op or Internship experience will be considered)
High school diploma/GED PLUS 3+ years of work experience in an E&I role
Experience in industrial or manufacturing environments (e.g., oil & gas, chemical, power)
Solid knowledge base in process control, instrumentation, and electrical power systems
Proficiency in PLC systems, SCADA, and automation software
Familiarity with industry standards, including ISA, IEEE, IEC, and NEC
Familiarity with hazardous area classifications and intrinsically safe system design
Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and team collaboration skills

Preferred

Experience with CMMS systems (e.g., SAP, Maximo)
Familiarity with CAD software such as AutoCAD or EPLAN
Experience with Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) and NFPA 86 burner systems
Knowledge of cybersecurity principles in control systems
Experience with IT/OT networking and server management
