Responsibilities
Perform timely rental check-ins and check-outs of company-owned rental equipment, ensuring a smooth customer experience
Assist customers with loading and unloading equipment and provide necessary instructions regarding operation and attachments
Conduct visual and mechanical functionality checks on all rental equipment to ensure readiness and safety for the customer
Maintain exceptional organization within the rental equipment yard, ensuring that equipment is properly stored, and each piece has a current check-out record
Exercise great attention to detail, ensuring the accuracy of all paperwork related to rental transactions, which is critical to the success of the role
Maintain the cleanliness of the rental yard and equipment, including steam cleaning machinery as needed
Ensure all equipment and attachments are clearly marked with company ID numbers and CMI decals
Red tag equipment needing repairs and coordinate with rental coordinators on scheduling these repairs
Perform routine maintenance tasks such as adding oil and airing tires when necessary
Assist in minor repairs (flat tires, blown hoses) as required, prioritizing safety and operational efficiency
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED required
Must have a valid Class C driver's license and a clean DMV report
Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle objects, and reach with hands and arms
Frequently climb or balance, talk or hear, and occasionally sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds
Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
Preferred
Entry-level to four years of related experience and/or training in equipment repair and maintenance preferred
