Cash Operation Generalist/Senior/Assistant (High Speed 2nd Shift)
The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia is one of the 12 regional Reserve Banks that, together with the Board of Governors in Washington, D.C., make up the Federal Reserve System. The Cash Operation Generalist/Senior/Assistant will be responsible for processing currency in a high-volume production environment, ensuring accuracy and efficiency while providing guidance and training to team members.

Responsibilities
Ensure that all daily processing activities are accomplished in an accurate, efficient, and detailed manner
Ensure team documents are accurate by reviewing and correcting exceptions as needed
Maximize production of team by ensuring established workflows are followed
Maintain processing area organization before and during processing to ensure daily tasks are completed timely
Assist team members with work duties as needed
Provide guidance to team members with proper procedures and how to address processing challenges that occur as needed
Take on lead role within team in identifying and resolving processing and end of day settlement issues as they occur
Collaborate with management and field engineers to resolve technical issues as needed
Accept and verify deposits of currency and coin from armored carriers
Store currency and coin to vaults to await processing
Operate high-speed processing equipment
Perform internal transfers as needed
Fill currency orders for pay-out to designated carriers
Perform as a witness for currency destruction
Enter data into the automated settlement system for all transactions
Provide job training for new employees
Open and close vault doors
Verify contaminated currency for authenticity
Destroy contaminated and unfit currency
Perform other related duties as assigned
Perform physical inventory of holdings and prepare financial settlements daily
Perform end of shift area inspections to ensure all valuables are properly secured
Cross train for functions outside of assigned areas
Travel to assist other Federal Reserve districts as needed
Assist with ordering supplies needed for the operations
Qualification
Required
Comprehensive knowledge of applicable controls and procedures
Cash handling, warehouse, or manufacturing experience
Good communications skills
Ability to coach experienced team members
Ability to provide on the job training for less experienced and new employees
Demonstrate coaching and training abilities
Demonstrate proficiency in mathematics
Have relevant cash handling experience
Comprehensive understanding of FRS valuable handling procedures
Effective communication and critical thinking skills
Ability to operate pallet jack and forklift equipment
Minimum five years' work experience in similar capacity
Confined to a specific secure work area
Accountable for large amounts of currency and coin
Ability to lift 5-50 lbs. from ground level up to a height of four feet
Ability to work while standing for extended periods of time
Ability to load/unload containers for extended periods of time
The ability to push/pull containers weighing between five hundred to over 1,000 pounds
Ability to operate the forklift and pallet jacks
Must be able to work overtime
Preferred
High School diploma preferred and/or equivalent work experience
