Responsibilities

Ensure that work is always executed in a safe manner
Assist in completion of S32 corporate safety and business goals
Assure that project construction activities and services are executed in conformity with S32’s environmental policies and plans
Assure that project construction activities and services are executed in conformity with S32’s community relations policies and plans
Assure strict compliance with S32 Change Management processes
Extract data from sources such as plans, engineering reports, and specifications to inspect and report on the work of construction contractors and vendor supplied materials
Assure Code and Procedural compliance for construction activities related to the Shafts and other construction projects on site as requested
Inspect and verify Contractor’s and Vendor’s work and materials for defects
Compose and maintain accurate reports and documentation of field activities
Identify contractor quality issues and work with Quality Manager to resolve issues
Ensure compliance within scope of applicable regulatory requirements including Federal, State, and Local
Ensure conformity with industry codes of practice and standards
Ensure that all work conforms with the specified quality standards
Perform other Quality Assurance duties as assigned by the Quality Manager

Required

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
Ability to drive company vehicle and be covered under company insurance
Understanding of Quality Assurance and Quality Control management concepts and best practices
Ability to read and interpret 2D and 3D designs, and specifications for the work being performed
Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
Strong English language written and oral communication skills
Relationship building, team building, interaction skills
Experience working in a cross-cultural setting
Proven track record maintaining a safe work culture
Maintain high standards of professional and ethical conduct

Preferred

Associates Degree in Quality Assurance, Construction or related field
Trade qualifications or certifications
Minimum of 5 years experience with large-scale mining/construction projects as related to Quality Assurance and Quality Control
Prior underground construction experience
Knowledge of shaft and other underground construction or utility practices
