Supervisor, Integrated Behavioral Health Psychologist (Pediatric)

Responsibilities
Supervises employee daily clinical activities to ensure compliance with all Denver Health, state and federal regulations to include: the Joint Commission, HIPAA, 42 CFR, and all applicable mental health rules and regulations
Responsible for providing float coverage/support in critical areas when needed at the direction of IBH Manager
Provide high quality clinical services to individuals referred to behavioral health, including short-term evidence-based behavioral health interventions and support services
Provide services that are appropriate to the age and developmental level of the patient
Consult with providers as part of the interdisciplinary team and generate recommendations, referrals, and case management as needed
Conduct brief diagnostic screening of patients using evidence-based assessments and screening tools
Provide health behavior change interventions using Motivational Interviewing
Conduct in-depth diagnostic assessment as needed
Conduct safety and risk assessment as needed
Generate documentation of assessment and intervention in the medical record in a timely manner
Actively participate in regular team meetings and huddles of the interdisciplinary team at primary care clinic
Participate in Integrated Behavioral Health Division meetings to maintain cohesion and improve awareness of department functioning
Participates or provides leadership of department, agency, or community meetings as well as internal Denver Health workgroups
Participate in teaching and didactics as part of the training faculty of the Division of Psychology for psychology pre-doctoral residents and practicum students
Provide teaching and presentation of relevant topics to the Integrated Behavioral Health Division staff
Provide teaching and presentation of relevant topics to the medical residents and training programs within Denver Health and University of Colorado
Participate in academic efforts in research and professional writing
Provides monthly administrative supervision to licensed providers
In collaboration with the IBH Manager, supports clinical supervision and/or reflective supervision activities
Builds productive integrated teams, identifies areas for team and/or individual growth and development, addresses staff performance, attendance and behavioral issues, provides appropriate feedback and oversees orientation to job responsibilities
Supports clinical audit process for team members and providing coaching and feedback to improve documentation and care delivery
Supports scheduling, staffing, standard workflows, and assigns and reviews work. Sets performance expectations by communicating professional behavior, job expectations
Completes annual performance evaluations or Prism. Participates with the Manager in recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and accountability-based performance actions for staff
Supports IBH Manager in developing team members and identifying areas of clinical growth and support within their job role in IBH
Participates with the IBH Manager in quality improvement, standard work, research and data collection, grant writing and other initiatives and relevant programs
Supports IBH Manager with interdivision/interdepartmental meetings
Participates with IBH Manager in creating and implementing clinical standard work for clinical team
Supports IBH Manager in developing and implementing Quality Improvement Metrics
Supports IBH Manager in developing Epic Enhancements for clinical team
Contributes to all Lean processes, and all Denver Health, department, and clinic performance improvement initiatives
Routinely communicates with the management/leadership team regarding staff service activities, and problems needing department leadership attention
Qualification
Required
Doctorate Degree in psychology from an accredited program
Three years of post-doctorate's direct provider experience in an organized clinical setting
PSY-Licensed Psychologist - State Board of Psychologist Examiners
BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) - AHA - American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Knowledge of supervision tactics and ongoing development of supervision abilities
Knowledge of clinical social work and/or clinical counseling and the patient population served
Knowledge of mental health and substance abuse regulatory standards, compliance requirements, and regulations pertaining to the programs(s) supervised
Proficiency with documentation in an electronic health record
Knowledge of change in leadership and/or learn management
Excellent interpersonal and team building skills
Skill in identifying problems and opportunities to improve care
Ability to encourage and enhance work performance through feedback, mentoring, coaching, and through example
Ability to effectively recruit develops, retain, and manage staff to include initiating corrective action plans as needed
Excellent interpersonal skills and motivation to work as part of a dynamic interdisciplinary team in a medical setting
Ability to give and receive constructive feedback and incorporate it into practice
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
