Family First Program Associate
NYC Administration for Children's Services is dedicated to protecting and promoting the safety and well-being of children and families. The Family First Program Associate will provide critical support to prevention services providers, ensuring compliance with the Family First Prevention Services Act and assisting in maximizing Title IV-E claiming.
Responsibilities
Provide training and technical assistance to prevention services providers on documentation of candidacy under the Family First Prevention Services Act
Review program data and samples of case record documentation to ensure compliance with Family First requirements
Use state and local data systems (CONNECTIONS, Data Warehouse, PROMIS) to review reports and program data to monitor and support with legislative requirements
Provide feedback and technical assistance to providers, both orally and in writing, regarding compliance with legislative requirements
Liaise with FSD contract management staff and staff from the Division of Financial Services to ensure provider invoices include information required to facilitate claiming under Family First
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
You must be a current employee of the Administration for Children's Services to be considered for this position
These positions are only open to candidates who are permanent (not provisional) in the civil service title of Child Welfare Specialist
A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college including or supplemented by 24 semester credits in one or a combination of the following fields: social work, psychology, sociology, human services, criminal justice, education (including early childhood), nursing, or cultural anthropology, with at least 12 of these credits in one discipline
Upon satisfactory completion of six months of training and experience at Assignment Level I, an employee shall be assigned to Assignment Level II
Upon completion of one year of satisfactory experience at Assignment Level II of Child Welfare Specialist and satisfactory completion of the probationary period an employee shall receive no less than the minimum salary after 18 months in title
To be appointed directly to Assignment Level II, a candidate must have, in addition to meeting the minimum qualification requirements set forth above, one year of satisfactory child welfare casework experience
Preferred
Detail-oriented, able to analyze data reports and clearly communicate findings to a variety of audiences (providers, ACS staff)
Ability to work collaboratively in a team as well as independently
An orientation toward support and technical assistance in alignment with division's values and priorities
