Testing & Quality Assurance Analyst

The Office of Financial Management (OFM) serves as the backbone of Washington state government, focusing on enhancing how state government serves its citizens. They are seeking a Testing & Quality Assurance Analyst to lead testing efforts across multiple state agencies for the One Washington program, ensuring systems function correctly and supporting agency partners in executing test strategies.

Responsibilities

Coordinate the quality assurance work efforts for the program by coordinating testing activities for a complex ERP system and any future changes
Partner with agencies as they plan remediation of legacy systems to develop testing strategies and plans; ensure readiness for end-to-end validation with One Washington
Coordinate testing tasks within each of the Technology Workstreams, including Integrations, Conversions, and Reporting
Analyze business requirements, user stories, and design documents for completeness and testability
Ensure the developed testing solution meets functional and non-functional requirements
Apply and implement automated Testing / QA tools and technologies
Analyze potential risks and elevate them as appropriate to other areas of the Project Management Team and key stakeholders; develop contingency plans to mitigate risk
Ensure adequate project documentation is created and maintained, outlining all aspects of the project and associated tasks for testing

Required

ERP experience of testing Financial, HR, Procurement, or Budget software (e.g., Workday, SAP, PeopleSoft, Oracle, or Salesforce)
Testing Methodologies: Proficiency in various testing techniques, including functional, integration, regression, performance, and security testing
Test Automation: Experience with test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium) to create and execute automated test scripts
Defect Management: Ability to identify, document, track, and report software defects effectively
Data Analysis: Skills in analyzing data to identify trends, anomalies, and potential issues within the ERP system
API Testing: Understanding and experience in testing Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) used by the ERP system
Performance Testing: Knowledge of performance testing methodologies to ensure the ERP system can handle the required load and stress
Security Testing: Understanding security testing principles and techniques to identify vulnerabilities within the ERP system
Requirement Analysis: Ability to understand and analyze business requirements to develop comprehensive test plans and test cases
Scripting Languages: Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript) for automation and data manipulation
Database Management: Understanding of database concepts and the ability to assess database performance

Preferred

Bachelor's degree or higher related to Computer Programming or Computer Science
Professional experience with automated software testing tools like Kainos and building regression scripts
Certified Software Tester (CSTE) or Certified Software Test Professional (CSTP)
Proficiency in testing accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA)
Knowledge and experience with assistive technologies (e.g., JAWS, NVDA, Voiceover)
Use of tools: i.e., Smartsheet, SharePoint, Teams, Microsoft tools
Knowledge to estimate effort and resources to complete project tasks
