Nuclear Director I, Engineering Management

They are seeking a Nuclear Director I to provide senior engineering leadership for a new nuclear power plant facility, focusing on the Nuclear Island execution and ensuring successful engineering performance and project execution.

Responsibilities
Has overall responsibility and accountability for the performance of the engineering team, and the engineering execution and delivery as per the project baseline
Manage the interfaces between the engineering disciplines, by understanding the discipline work processes and looking ahead to identify critical busts and / or activities that need to be completed to support the execution strategy
Set a positive project culture in conjunction with the Project Manager and Project Director. Monitor team morale and take steps if required to maintain a positive work environment
Lead development of the Engineering component of overall project Scope of Services, Scope of Facilities, and other project baseline documents for all phases of projects
Lead the development of the Project Execution Strategy for all engineering functions
Understand Project execution norms for hours and schedule and use this knowledge to identify busts in execution that may require a different strategy. Identify risks and mitigations arising from the development of the strategy

Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
12+ years of previous experience in lead roles on FEED and detailed design projects
Technical training at various levels of the organization
Excellent team and leadership skills - as team member, trainer, and developer
Results driven individual who has demonstrated ability creating and working in a high performance manufacturing environment
Good attention to detail and the ability to manage the bigger picture and have a 'make it happen' mentality
Effectively manage multiple, complex tasks and deal easily with pressure on a day in and day out basis
Ability to motivate, communicate and drive continuous improvement through quality
Critical thinker with excellent analytic abilities
Good understanding of business principles and practices and ability to create financial solutions with a bottom-line result
Solid planning, budgeting, and administrative skills
High energy demonstrates urgency and fast pace
US Citizen or Green Card holder with current or past clearance to work on nuclear projects
Previous experience with nuclear power plant design, including Reactor Building, Radioactive Waste Building, and Control Building
Experience executing engineering work under an ASME NQA-1 quality program
Familiarity with nuclear industry standards and regulations
Familiarity with nuclear facility licensing per 10 CFR Part 50 and 10 CFR Part 52
Familiarity with design and procurement of safety related and augmented quality components
