ORAU is offering a unique opportunity through the NASA Postdoctoral Program for a JWST Exoplanet Theory Postdoctoral Fellow. The fellow will engage in research involving transmission spectroscopy of exoplanets, contributing to investigations of atmospheric diversity and leading publications in collaboration with a multi-institutional team.

Responsibilities

Work with a team of world-class collaborators on the JWST Cycle 1 GO Program 2512
Conduct NIRSpec/BOTS transmission spectroscopy of 11 super-Earth and sub-Neptune transiting exoplanets detected by TESS
Enable a range of investigations into the magnitude and origin of atmospheric diversity in small planets
Lead publications on individual planets/planet systems as well as contribute to team member led publications
Conduct individual research and contribute to team projects

Experience inferring atmospheric properties from spectroscopic observations of exoplanets

Experience in spectral inference (otherwise known as spectral retrieval)
Experience in forward models
