Responsibilities

Help coordinate the daily operations of research projects in the field of health policy, including topics related to the health and economic effects of policies governing mental health and substance use disorder treatment and prescription drugs
Use statistical software to work with large data sets, including insurance claims datasets
Create and manage data files that can be analyzed and conduct statistical analyses under the supervision of Dr. Huskamp
Assist with drafting and preparation of manuscripts, presentations, and grant proposals
Participate in team meetings and convey and discuss the methods and analyses with faculty collaborators and other team members
Conduct research tasks such as literature reviews

Required

One or more years of related research experience or relevant coursework
Proficiency in using statistical software such as R, SAS, and/or STATA
A background in statistical programming (competency in R, SAS, or STATA) and a basic understanding of econometrics or statistics is strongly encouraged
BA or BS in economics, statistics, public policy, political science, or related field, with quantitative coursework in a social science field
Must demonstrate interest, experience, or background in health policy research
Must be proficient with most computer software, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and a willingness to learn other statistical or computer software as needed
Independent judgement, patience, and excellent communication skills are required to respond efficiently to varied/complex tasks
Organization and attention to detail are essential
Flexibility and the ability to work in a team is required
