Walgreens, in collaboration with Howard University College of Pharmacy, is committed to training future champions in the community pharmacy arena. The Pharmacy Resident will engage in a residency program aimed at enhancing practice skills and addressing healthcare challenges, while also preparing for management and leadership roles in specialty stores.

Responsibilities

Disease state management programs in hematology, HIV/AIDS, oncology, transplant, and more

Support transitions of care for hospital discharge patients through bedside medication delivery and counseling

Community pharmacy multi-unit management and business operations

Design and conduct a practice-based research project

Delivering presentations at regional and national professional meetings

Executing marketing strategy for the promotion of patient care services

Participating in a teaching certificate program

Facilitation of lab lectures and simulation for pharmacy students

Design and implementation of clinical services

Qualification

Doctor of Pharmacy degreePharmacist licenseCertified ImmunizerDisease state managementClinical pharmacy servicesTeaching certificate programResearch project designMarketing strategyPresentation skills

Required

Doctor of Pharmacy degree from a college or school of pharmacy accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education

Ability to obtain pharmacist license within the state of residency within the licensure requirement deadline

Submission of residency application materials to Pharmacy Online Residency Centralized Application Service (PhORCAS)

Individuals must participate in and adhere to the rules of the ASHP Resident Matching Program

Certified Immunizer or willing to become an immunizer within 90 days of hire

Preferred
