North Shore School District 112 is committed to nurturing every child to become an inspired learner. The Sponsor of Book Match is responsible for supervising students and facilitating activities that encourage reading and engagement with literature.

Education

Responsibilities

Supervising students during Book Match after school from 3:30-4:30 pm

Meet weekly with the interested students during a lunch/ recess or after school time of their choosing

Playing games, book talking, and generally encouraging the students to read and retain pertinent story elements and details from 20 pre-selected books

Collaboration with other coaches at other schools

Schedule up to 5 after school matches between January and March for students at other 112 schools

Run and coordinate matches with the Highland Park Public Library

Planning club meetings

Communicating with students and their parents regarding club expectations

Facilitating students as they try to navigate challenges and problem solving

Serve as a mentor and facilitator of learning

Maintain a safe and supportive environment
