Responsibilities

Maintains bureau file room and electronic filing system

Retrieves and returns closed files to Operations used for addressing FOIL requests

Organizes and scans records from closed criminal files for review in response to FOIL requests

Handles limited caseload of FOIL requests and maintains list of assigned requests

Reviews records and media files that are responsive to FOIL requests for relevance and redactions

Required

An Associate's degree or a High School diploma/GED and a minimum of two (2) years working experience in a law firm, governmental agency, civic or community organization

A valid New York State driver's license with a minimum of two (2) years of driving experience is required and must be maintained for the duration of employment

Familiarity and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Ability to communicate in a welcoming and professional manner

Excellent customer service skills

The ability to understand and carry out simple instructions is required

Candidates must be able to understand and be understood in English
