The Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology is seeking faculty members to conduct research and teach pharmacology and toxicology to students, while also contributing to the department's development and research initiatives.

Responsibilities

Establish/maintain independent, extramurally supported research programs

Build a strong record of scholarship through peer-reviewed publications

Teach pharmacology and/or toxicology to professional and graduate students

Promote the development of the department through other forms of service supporting ECU’s commitment to student learning and regional transformation

Qualification

Ph.D. in PharmacologyResearch fundingTeaching experiencePost-doctoral trainingCollaborative researchInterdisciplinary researchPublication recordMentoring skills

Required

Ph.D., MD, or DVM equivalent in pharmacology, toxicology, or related discipline

Potential to provide excellent teaching and mentoring to professional and graduate students

Candidates for appointments above the rank of Assistant Professor must have current extramural funding and evidence of active contribution to graduate training and medical education

All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions

Preferred

Post-doctoral training (minimum 3 years)

Demonstrated originality and excellence in research

Potential to develop a productive and collaborative research program that is externally funded

Demonstrated ability to utilize a variety of skills in research, teaching, and service

Researchers with expertise in integrative and molecular pharmacology or toxicology are especially encouraged to apply
