Shipping & Receiving Associate

The Shipping & Receiving Associate is responsible for the accurate execution of inbound and outbound material movements, ensuring that materials flow into and out of the facility safely and on time.

Responsibilities
Receive inbound raw materials, components, and supplies in accordance with delivery documentation and site procedures
Verify inbound shipments against packing slips, bills of lading, and purchase documentation, escalating discrepancies, damage, or quality concerns to the Purchasing Specialist
Prepare outbound shipments of finished goods and components, including staging, labeling, and documentation per shipping instructions
Coordinate pickup readiness with carriers as scheduled, without direct carrier negotiation or rate setting
Maintain accurate physical organization of receiving and shipping areas to ensure safe and efficient material flow
Support cycle counts, inventory spot checks, and identification of low-inventory or excess materials as directed by the Production Manager or Purchasing Specialist
Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment in accordance with training and safety requirements
Follow all safety, quality, and documentation procedures, including proper handling of damaged, suspect, or non-conforming materials
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent required
Ability to read and interpret shipping documents such as packing slips, bills of lading, labels, and basic inventory documentation
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standardized processes and work instructions
Ability to communicate clearly with production, purchasing, and operations personnel
Commitment to safety, quality, and disciplined execution in a factory environment
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday
Ability to regularly lift, carry, push, or pull materials up to 50 lbs
Required use of PPE including hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and steel-toe boots
Exposure to noise, moving equipment, and seasonal temperature variations typical of a manufacturing and logistics environment
Preferred
Prior experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse, or manufacturing environments preferred
Forklift or powered industrial truck experience preferred, or ability to obtain certification upon hire
