Responsibilities

Serve as an expert clinical and academic faculty member within the Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine
Provide expert interpretations that directly impact patient care and treatment planning
Communicate complex diagnostic information clearly to clinicians, learners, and patients
Contribute expert insight to multidisciplinary tumor boards and disease-site conferences
Provide educational lectures and advanced instruction to medical students, pathology residents, fellows, and faculty
Perform and interpret intraoperative frozen sections requiring specialized judgment
Participate in call coverage in accordance with divisional assignments, when applicable
Engage in departmental quality assurance activities, committees, and working groups

Required

Subspecialty-focused expertise in GI Pathology
Fellowship training in GI Pathology (preferred)
M.D, D.O., or equivalent
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anatomic Pathology, or Anatomic and Clinical Pathology
Subspecialty fellowship training in GI Pathology
Licensed to practice medicine in the State of Florida
Specialized expertise in Surgical Pathology with a focus on GI Pathology
Strong skills in complex diagnostic interpretation and intraoperative consultations
Ability to function independently as a definitive diagnostic authority
Ability to communicate complex diagnostic information clearly to clinicians, learners, and patients
Support the department's academic mission through clinical and translational research
Contribute expert insight to multidisciplinary tumor boards and disease-site conferences
Provide educational lectures and advanced instruction to medical students, pathology residents, fellows, and faculty
Perform and interpret intraoperative frozen sections requiring specialized judgment
Participate in call coverage in accordance with divisional assignments
Engage in departmental quality assurance activities, committees, and working groups
