Assistant Controller/ Sr. Account Manager
Eximia Research is a clinical research organization seeking an Assistant Controller/Senior Accounting Manager to lead accounting operations and ensure financial accuracy across its multi-site operations. The role involves managing various accounting functions, preparing financial reports, and overseeing payroll and accounts payable operations.

Responsibilities
Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, review and post journal entries
Perform account reconciliations (cash, AR, AP, accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, intercompany)
Prepare draft consolidated financial statements and management reports for Controller review
Generate variance analysis and site-level financial packages
Maintain general ledger integrity and ensure proper documentation
Oversee AP operations; review and approve vendor invoices, payment runs, and expense reports
Monitor payables aging and vendor relationships; maintain vendor files and 1099 compliance
Review and approve bi-weekly/semi-monthly payroll across all sites
Verify payroll accuracy (hours, rates, deductions, taxes); approve payroll funding
Reconcile payroll accounts and support year-end W-2 preparation
Manage outsourced accounting contractors; define scope, deliverables, and timelines
Prepare audit schedules, PBCs, and respond to auditor requests
Support system implementations, integrations, and process improvements
Supervise staff accountants
Support accounting onboarding for new site acquisitions
Qualification
Required
7-10 years progressive accounting experience with 3-5 years in supervisory role
Clinical research, healthcare, or multi-site operations experience
Multi-entity consolidations and audit preparation experience
Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting or similar required
Strong technical accounting skills; expert knowledge of US GAAP and complex accounting topics (ASC 606, ASC 842, consolidations)
Clinical trial revenue recognition and milestone accounting expertise preferred
Payroll accounting and AP operations knowledge
Proficiency with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred)
Advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros); HIPAA and healthcare compliance knowledge

Experience with CTAs, patient visit tracking systems, and CTMS
Private equity-backed or high-growth organization experience
Experience managing outsourced accounting functions or third-party contractors
CPA or MBA
