Sr Data Integration Engineer – IBM InfoSphere Data Replication (IIDR)
Ablayz LLC is seeking a Sr Data Integration Engineer with extensive experience in IBM InfoSphere Data Replication and CDC architecture. The role involves implementing complex data transformations and ensuring efficient data integration from mainframe systems to relational databases.
Responsibilities
IBM IIDR / CDC: Minimum 5+ years of hands‑on experience with IBM InfoSphere Data Replication and CDC architecture for z/OS DB2 and IMS sources
IBM Classic Data Architect (CDA) & Data Mapping
Strong understanding of mainframe data structures, including DB2 tablespaces, logs, IMS segments, and hierarchical models
Expert knowledge of mapping hierarchical IMS segments, DB2 tables to Oracle relational tables
Experience importing COBOL Copybooks and performing data type conversions
Experience writing IMS Exit routines
Transformation: Ability to implement complex data transformations, including EBCDIC‑to‑ASCII conversion, packed decimal formats, and REDEFINES logic
Deep understanding of IMS internals, including DBD, PSB, PCB, segment layouts, logical relationships, and compression
IBM Mainframe (z/OS): Proficiency in JCL, TSO/ISPF, and understanding of DB2 recovery logs and IMS log structures
IMS DB expertise
DB2 for z/OS skills
Database Expertise: Strong SQL skills and experience with Oracle Database administration basics (indexes, constraints, partitioning)
Knowledge of configuring the Access Server, Management Console, and Capture/Apply agents
Shell scripting
Java coding skills for advanced transformations
Cloud as a target environment (Azure preferred)
Expertise in designing high‑availability, fault‑tolerant replication pipelines
Strong troubleshooting skills across network, replication, and database layers
Familiarity with enterprise data governance and security practices
