Produce high-impact data stories that help readers understand and explore how schools and other public institutions shape their daily lives

Collaborate closely with reporters and editors across the San Antonio newsroom, particularly on the education beat

Find original angles and deliver high-impact journalism that readers can’t get anywhere else

Required

Experience in data journalism or a related field

Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data sets

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Ability to collaborate effectively with reporters and editors

Comfortable providing and taking feedback

Ability to produce high-impact data stories

Experience with data visualization tools and techniques

Preferred

Experience covering education or public institutions

Familiarity with interactive projects and graphics-focused storytelling

Knowledge of the San Antonio and Austin communities
