Responsibilities

Maintain full responsibility for litigation files from initial complaint through final resolution. Ensure timely and accurate handling of all documentation, including court filings, internal updates, and case milestones
Draft, revise, and file pleadings such as complaints, answers, motions to compel, motions in limine, motions for summary judgment, and other litigation-related filings in Missouri and Illinois courts
Coordinate discovery efforts by preparing and responding to interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admissions. Track all deadlines and ensure timely compliance with discovery requests from opposing counsel
Analyze and summarize extensive medical records and bills. Identify key treatment details and damages to support attorney strategy, settlement demands, and trial exhibits
Schedule depositions and prepare attorneys and clients by organizing exhibits, outlining expected testimony, and preparing summaries of prior testimony or relevant documents
Maintain detailed litigation calendars for all active cases. Track court deadlines, statutes of limitations, trial dates, and motions hearings to ensure attorneys are fully prepared
Serve as liaison between attorney and clients, medical providers, expert witnesses, court personnel, and opposing counsel to coordinate activities, obtain records, and facilitate case progress
Assist in all phases of trial prep, including preparing exhibit lists, trial binders, demonstratives, jury instructions, witness prep materials, and voir dire questions. Coordinate logistics such as courtroom technology and transportation
Attend trial in person to provide logistical and legal support. Manage exhibits, coordinate witnesses, assist with jury selection prep, and provide real-time updates and documentation as needed
Organize and assist in preparing post-trial motions, appeals, and settlement distributions. Ensure compliance with court orders and timely filing of post-trial documentation

Required

Associate's Degree, Bachelor's Degree, or Paralegal Certificate from an accredited program
Minimum 3 years of experience in personal injury litigation required; Missouri and/or Illinois experience preferred
Strong working knowledge of the Missouri Rules of Civil Procedure and local court filing procedures
Proficiency in case management software (SmartAdvocate, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite
Demonstrated ability to manage large volumes of documents and strict litigation deadlines
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently, take initiative, and multitask efficiently in a team-oriented environment
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Preferred

Experience preparing and managing e-discovery and digital trial presentation tools
Background working on catastrophic injury or complex liability cases
Familiarity with both Missouri and Illinois court systems is a plus
