They are seeking a Senior Architect (Business Process Engineering SME) to support the Department of Veterans Affairs by improving acquisition workflows through business process engineering expertise and stakeholder collaboration.

Responsibilities
In this role, the Business Process Engineering SME will lead business process engineering efforts to assess current-state acquisition workflows, identify gaps and inefficiencies, and define improved future-state processes aligned to EASS program objectives
The Architect will facilitate stakeholder workshops to capture and validate process flows and requirements, develop and maintain detailed process models and supporting documentation, and translate business outcomes into actionable solution architecture inputs for delivery teams
The position also supports enterprise and solution architecture activities by producing and maintaining architecture and design artifacts that describe system components, data and integration flows, and operational impacts; developing and updating integration specifications and Interface Control Documents (ICDs); and ensuring architecture decisions, baselines, and changes are documented, traceable, and aligned to delivery cadence and release planning
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree and 4 years of relevant experience (or 4 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of the degree)
Demonstrated business process engineering experience, including current-state assessment, future-state design, and process improvement/reengineering
Experience developing process models/diagrams and maintaining process documentation in support of system modernization and sustainment
Experience translating business processes and stakeholder needs into actionable requirements and solution design inputs for technical teams
Experience producing architecture and design documentation that supports implementation, integration, and operational sustainment
Strong stakeholder facilitation and communication skills, including leading workshops and presenting process/architecture outcomes clearly
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance at the Tier 2 (Moderate Risk) level (active preferred)
Preferred
Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related STEM field
Experience using BPMN-aligned tooling and standards to develop formal process models
Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks and disciplined architecture governance practices
Experience supporting VA or other federal programs in regulated delivery environments and documentation-driven governance
