Responsibilities
Observes and interprets readings on gauges, meters and charts which register various aspects of the system’s operation
Set and maintain mechanical equipment controls per UFC and DoD guidance for Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems in accordance with applicable directives, instructions, manuals, and engineering technical orders
Adjusts controls to insure safe and efficient operation of the system and to meet demands for the service provided
Records in logs various aspects of the system’s operation
Keeps the engines, machinery and equipment of the system in good working order
May direct and coordinate activities of other workers in performing tasks directly related to operating and maintaining the system or systems
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or equivalent
2 years' experience as a stationary engineer or related field
Ability to perform work safely under hazardous conditions
Able to trouble shoot and repair most complex problems
Knowledge of computer software programs to include Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook required
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Must be able to lift 50 lbs., squat, bend, stoop and kneel for short periods, climb a ladder, stand for long periods, constant arm extensions
Occasional exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, but none to the point of being disagreeable
May involve minor safety hazards where likely result would be cuts, bruises, etc
