GIS Analyst | $60/hr Remote
Crossing Hurdles is seeking a GIS Research Analyst to perform high-quality geospatial analysis to support AI model training. The role involves designing tasks related to zoning databases and spatial data retrieval, as well as collaborating with domain experts to ensure technical accuracy.

Craft high-quality, real-world geospatial analysis problems to support AI model training
Design tasks involving zoning databases, parcel data extraction, and spatial data retrieval from government GIS portals
Create clear, structured evaluation rubrics to assess AI agent performance on geospatial tasks
Apply domain expertise in GIS, urban planning, and spatial analysis to ensure technical accuracy and relevance
Collaborate asynchronously with domain experts and research teams to refine task design and validation
Qualification
Required
Master's degree or PhD in Geography, GIS, Urban Planning, Environmental Science, or a closely related field
Experience working with GIS platforms and government spatial databases (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS, USGS, Census Bureau)
Strong background in spatial analysis, geospatial data science, or urban planning workflows
High attention to detail and strong analytical thinking
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with strong English proficiency
Ability to work independently in a remote, research-driven environment
