Responsibilities
Develop and execute a comprehensive multi-cloud strategy aligned with organizational goals
Develop and enforce infrastructure strategy and standards
Ensure administrative and technical compliance to infrastructure and security standards and policies
Provide strategic direction for the adoption of emerging cloud technologies to enhance business operations
Stay up to date with new technologies and best practices, to assure operational reliability, productivity, scalability, and security compliance
Collaborate with other architects and engineers to provide fast, reliable, and scalable solutions
Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team
Mentor and guide staff, where needed, on best practices
Architect, design, and implement scalable and resilient cloud infrastructure solutions
Ensure the efficient utilization of cloud resources and optimize costs
Monitor and report on cloud infrastructure availability, reliability, fault tolerance
Develop service agreements and performance metrics for cloud IT services
Identify opportunities for cost savings and service improvements through the effective management of services, solutions, technologies, and vendors
Consolidate technologies, centralize technology management, and simplify infrastructure architecture
Perform other related tasks and assignments, as required
Implement and enforce security best practices for cloud environments
Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies
Enforce compliance with ISO 27001, SOC2, PCI DSS
Implement monitoring and alerting systems for proactive issue identification and resolution
Continuously optimize and fine-tune cloud infrastructure for optimal performance
Collaborate with cloud service providers and manage vendor relationships
Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to enhance cloud capabilities
Develop and maintain robust disaster recovery and business continuity plans
Conduct regular drills and assessments to ensure preparedness
Maintain comprehensive documentation for all cloud infrastructure components
Provide training and knowledge-sharing sessions for team members
This role may require occasional on-call/after-business-hours availability, as required to support deployments, resolve production problems, or respond to technical emergencies
This role is remote and may require some travel between the following areas: Sterling, IL AND/OR Oakbrook, IL
Qualification
Required
At least 10 years of hands-on technical experience with infrastructure design, development, engineering and support
At least 7 years developing cloud infrastructure architecture within Azure and AWS
Exceptional collaboration, communication, and negotiation skills
Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of handling multiple tasks and priorities
Proficient in presenting to a variety of stakeholders
Strong writing, critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills
High technical aptitude and a strong commitment to staying informed of current trends
Preferred
Experience with Good Engineering Practices (GxP)
Experience working in software engineering industry
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or a related field
