Manager - SW Development, Testing, & Deployment

Responsibilities
Design and deploy test systems and software for various spaceflight systems
Share in the team’s impact on all aspects of component, sub-assembly, and vehicle level testing
Design LabVIEW data acquisition and control systems based on NI CompactRIO, CompactDAQ, PXI, and other hardware that will test fluid, mechanical, and electrical development and flight systems of our engines and launch vehicles
Provide support for business units and programs across Blue Origin for critical development, qualification, and acceptance testing
Lead the Data Systems & Controls Engineering Software team
Continue development of our common software architecture and applications
Maintain a 5-year plan for the team
Help team members prioritize their work and set goals
Perform performance reviews and other management tasks
Perform technical work, including design and troubleshooting, and mentorship of less experienced engineers
Develop and maintain related process and procedures
Effectively communicate to your team, to your management and with other teams at Blue
Qualification
Required
B.S. degree or higher in Computer Science or Computer/Electrical Engineering or equivalent
Experience with Agile software development, Scrum master
2+ years in software leadership (LabVIEW, C# or other languages accepted)
5+ years demonstrated ability in LabVIEW with knowledge of object-oriented design, test automation, and software component development
2-3 years of personnel management
Organized, self-starter, capable of breaking down complex problems into traceable tasks
Demonstrated knowledge and application of software development, architecture, DAQ system design
Exhibit excellent judgement and be comfortable making high-quality and high-velocity decisions
Excellent written and verbal communication
Effective project management
Exhibit ability to adapt and excel in changing, growing environment
Work effectively in a team
Up to 25% travel
Preferred
Experience with C#, C++, and web technologies
Experience working with rocket testing and space vehicles
Experience with process development and ownership
National Instruments certification in LabVIEW development: CLD, CLA, CLED, or Professional Instructor
NI TestStand sequence development, user interfaces, process model customization, and LabVIEW API
Experience with LabVIEW Real-Time, FPGA, and application deployment
Experience working with electrical control systems and industrial sensors and actuators: pressure, temperature, LVDT, bridge, accelerometers, and motion/servo controllers
