2+ years expCHRISTUS Health is seeking a GI Lab Tech to join their team. The role involves operating, cleaning, and maintaining procedure equipment, as well as providing support in a clinical setting. The technician will also be responsible for ensuring safety standards are met and assisting with patient care in an outpatient procedure clinic.
Responsibilities
Operates, cleans and maintains procedure equipment such as endoscopes, video and microprocessor instruments, biopsy forceps, stints, cautery, etc
Moves from one area to another within the hospital and/or clinic
Positions patients, lifts and moves equipment throughout hospital
Able to serve in limited nursing assistant role in Out Patient Procedure Clinic
Qualification
Required
Completion of high school or GED
BLS certification
Strong organizational skills
Ability to work collaboratively with others
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to read, write and speak fluent English
Ability to work at a rapid pace under stressful conditions
Knowledge of safety standards to limit exposure to infectious disease and strong chemicals
Ability to operate, clean and maintain procedure equipment such as endoscopes, video and microprocessor instruments, biopsy forceps, stints, cautery, etc
Ability to move from one area to another within the hospital and/or clinic
Ability to position patients, lift and move equipment throughout hospital
Ability to serve in limited nursing assistant role in Out Patient Procedure Clinic
Preferred
Two years post high school education in related healthcare field, preferable in radiology, respiratory or nursing
Two years GI lab technician experience preferred, outpatient setting
Spanish as a second language helpful
