Associate, U.S. Product Controller - Finance
CIBC US is building a relationship-oriented bank for the modern world and is seeking a dedicated Associate for their US Product Controller - Finance role. This position involves providing analytical support to the Wholesale Bank and Treasury businesses, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and collaborating with various teams on process improvements and strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities
Produce Daily P&L Reports: Ensure accuracy of Daily P&L reports for Capital Markets and Treasury businesses, including analysis of revenue and fluctuations
Month-End Reconciliation: Reconcile Daily P&L with actual results and ensure completeness and accuracy of month-end and quarter-end reporting
Independent Price Verification (IPV): Review and communicate IPV results to stakeholders and manage the sign-off process
Accounting Compliance: Ensure reporting is in line with IFRS and US GAAP; reconcile balance sheets and income statements, and resolve outstanding issues
Process Improvements: Continuously seek opportunities to automate and improve processes; maintain and update procedures and documentation
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with Front Office, Risk, Technology, and other teams to resolve issues and contribute to new product onboarding and strategic initiatives
Qualification
Required
Undergraduate degree in Economics, Finance, or Accounting, complemented by 3-5 years of relevant business experience
Strong understanding of accounting principles, particularly IFRS and US GAAP, with the ability to ensure compliance in financial reporting and reconciliation processes
In-depth experience with a broad range of Capital Markets products, including but not limited to Fixed Income, Margin Lending, Securities Lending, Options, Futures, and Derivatives
Familiarity with Treasury operations and financial instruments
Ability to analyze complex financial data and assess the implications on accounting and reporting, ensuring accuracy and integrity in financial statements
Capacity to view issues from various perspectives (Line of Business, Legal Entity, Product, Source System, etc.) to provide comprehensive insights and solutions
Well-developed organizational and prioritization skills to effectively manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Strong interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills to develop and maintain productive working relationships with stakeholders across Front Office, Risk Management, Technology, and Finance
Self-motivated team player with a flexible approach to problem-solving and a commitment to achieving team objectives
Strong leadership skills are advantageous, with the ability to guide and mentor junior team members
Ability to accept responsibility and work effectively under pressure to meet tight deadlines
Detail-oriented with a thorough and analytical approach to financial processes and controls
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, along with experience in automation tools such as Alteryx and Power BI
Ability to work with and manipulate large datasets from multiple sources, leveraging these tools to enhance reporting and analysis efficiency
