Eaton’s Advanced Technology team is hiring a Senior Firmware Engineer. The role involves designing and developing embedded software for power electronics-based circuit protection products and Eaton’s family of circuit breakers, collaborating with various teams to bring new products to life from design concept through to production launch.

Responsibilities

Perform embedded design and testing tasks for firmware development

Develop control and electrical fault management algorithm and firmware leveraging using HIL

Plans work in detail at individual level, creating a robust and trackable plan, coordinated with the larger development team, including requirement definition and issue tracking

Review own work as well as others work in formal design and quality reviews

Tests own work or work of others, meeting quality and reliability goals

Develops a high level of technical expertise in embedded software design

Performs and contributes to technical research and investigations

Collaborates with teams from ERL, Electrical Sector Center of Excellence, and external technology resources (National Labs and Universities) for technology and product innovation

Generates value added intellectual property

Required

Minimum three years' experience developing embedded firmware for electronic control

Bachelor's degree in an Engineering field (Electrical, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science) from an accredited institution
