The Employment Development Department (EDD) is one of the largest State departments in California, dedicated to connecting job seekers and employers. They are seeking a Tax Compliance Representative (TCR) responsible for recovering Unemployment and Disability Insurance Benefit Overpayments, reviewing claimant accounts, and explaining collection actions in compliance with laws and policies. This position requires effective communication in Spanish and involves both in-office and potential hybrid work arrangements.

Responsibilities

Under the close supervision of the Tax Administrator I, the Tax Compliance Representative (TCR) is responsible for the recovery of Unemployment and Disability Insurance Benefit Overpayments

The TCR reviews and analyzes claimant accounts and explains collection and legal action(s)

These activities must be in accordance with applicable laws, policies, and procedures

The TCR should possess basic skills in the use of a personal computer including Microsoft Software applications (i.e. Word, Access, Excel) as well as the various automated systems used within Collection Division

This position requires the applicant to communicate effectively in Spanish

Must reside in California to telecommute

Must submit a current version of the State Examination/Employment Application STD Form 678 or the Electronic State Employment Application
