Engineering Leader

Responsibilities
Identifies and drives continuous improvement for manufacturing
Responds to production product / process non-conformities, assisting production technicians as part of issue escalation
Leads the effort towards conducting root cause analysis and develops effective countermeasures
Creates and manages timelines for projects
Build and improve process around new product introduction coordination, including engineering and other support functions
Creates and implements methodology for improved workflow and testing capabilities
Documents all procedures for newly developed processes and on-going projects
Creates metrics to track process capability and improvement
As needed creates or recommends creation of drawings for required jigs
Translates customer specifications into procedures to be performed by the department
Interacts with various departments that impact production and process issues improve productivity and quality
Establishes, follows, and enforces all safety regulations
Utilizes data analysis techniques to prioritize solutions
Effectively communicates change at all levels in organization
Qualification
Required
B.S. or higher in Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering or related field or the equivalence in work experience
Eight or more years experience in the field of manufacturing engineering. Familiar with using statistical process control or similar methods
Two years direct engineering team leadership / supervision
Lead cross functional teams
Work effectively with minimal supervision
Read and understand a variety of job-related instructions and documents, including blueprints
Collect, compile and understand basic mathematical calculations and statistical data
Set personal deadlines and project schedules
Develop, organize, prioritize, and manage projects and time
Document effectively
Demonstrate and practice a detail-oriented approach to work
Identify, research and resolve issues
Work well with time and production limitations
Acquire substantial knowledge of ATF's manufacturing processes, procedures and products
Demonstrate strong analytical and problem solving skills
Demonstrate knowledge and experience with optical test equipment
Demonstrate a working knowledge of a variety of database or process software
Work effectively without upper management direction
Demonstrate mechanical skill
Work with chemicals
Train employees in manufacturing and lean principles
Hands on approach to learning and teaching others
This position is a site-based role
Willingness to work extended hours or weekends when necessary to support production demands
Use eyesight for all aspects of the job daily
Operate computer, grinder, saws, precision fabrication equipment, measuring tools, and hand tools as required
Bend as necessary to lift, lower, push, pull, or operate and maintain equipment and accessories
Effectively transport tooling, equipment, materials, and sharp objects safely within the department
Safety glasses are worn to prevent eye damage
Ear plugs and gloves are also provided
Exposure to minimal fumes from alcohol and acetone
Safety equipment is provided
Must have prior safety training
Heavy Work: The ability to lift up to one hundred pounds with assistance occasionally and up to fifty pounds frequently, due to the weight of machinery and materials. This position requires standing to a significant degree in order to operate machinery safely
