International Trade Compliance Specialist

Responsibilities

Coordinate and oversee import customs clearance processes for all inbound shipments
Ensure accurate Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classification and valuation of imported goods
Monitor and manage customs entries filed by customs brokers
Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations and other relevant government agencies (e.g., FDA, USDA, EPA)
Maintain awareness of changes in import regulations and communicate impacts to relevant teams
Support internal audits and corrective actions related to import compliance
Maintain accurate records of import transactions in accordance with CBP and company retention policies
Identify opportunities to streamline customs clearance processes and reduce import-related costs
Support implementation of trade compliance systems and automation tools

Required

A valid U.S. CUSTOMS BROKER LICENSE is desired
Bachelor's degree in business, Logistics, Internal Trade or a related field
5+ years of experience in trade compliance or customs clearance, preferably in a multinational environment. Experience with a Customers broker is preferred
In-depth, expert-level knowledge of U.S. import regulations, including HTS classification, valuation, country of origin rules, Free Trade Agreements, and customs clearance procedures
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with internal stakeholders, external partners, government agencies
Proficiency in customs brokerage software (SAP GTS), other ERP systems and Excel
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
Familiarity with risk assessment and mitigation techniques
Proficiency in data analysis and reporting
